Kelowna Actors Studio is thrilled to announce its summer production of the beloved musical Mamma Mia!, running from August 1 to 17 at the Kelowna Community Theatre. This enchanting show, set on a vibrant Greek island, weaves the timeless hits of ABBA into a heartwarming story of love, laughter, and family.

"We're beyond excited to add an extra week of performances because of the amazing demand for tickets! This will be the longest-running show in the Kelowna Community Theatre's 60+ year history”, shares Randy Leslie, Actors Studio Artistic Managing Director. “We're giving a nod to our original 2018 presentation, but with a fresh twist—completely reimagined staging, sets, lighting, a few familiar faces and some incredible new talent."

Mamma Mia! is a joyous celebration of friendship, family, and the universal search for identity and belonging. Featuring ABBA's iconic songs, including "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me," and "Mamma Mia," the musical tells the story of Sophie, a young bride-to-be, who invites three men from her mother's past to her wedding in hopes of discovering the identity of her father. The result is a heartwarming and humorous tale that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.

With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson & Bjorn Ulvaeus, Book by Catherine Johnson, Some songs with Stig Anderson, Mamma Mia was originally conceived by Judy Craymer.

The Actors Studio presentation will be Directed by Randy Leslie, with music direction by Spencer Bach and Choreography by Gracelynn Sali.  

This production of “Mamma Mia” promises to captivate theater-goers with its vibrant energy, iconic songs, and hilarious humor. Audiences will be transported to a charming Greek island, following Sophie's heartwarming and comedic quest to uncover her father’s identity.
