Kelowna Actors Studio is thrilled to announce its upcoming musical theatre presentation, Tootsie The Musical, directed by the Randy Leslie, with music direction by Spencer Bach and choreography by Gracelynn Sali. Based on the 1982 movie starring Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange and Bill Murray, Tootsie is set to enchant audiences from February 7 to 25, 2024.

This laugh-out-loud love letter to the theatre tells the story of Michael Dorsey, a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until one show-stopping act of desperation lands him the role of a lifetime.

The presentation comes to life with a very talented 20 person ensemble of beloved local favorites including Giuliana Borsella as Julie Nichols, the love interest and an actor at a pivotal crossroad in her life. Joanne Ryan as Sandy Lester, bringing to life a neurotic, pessimistic, self-deprecating, childish, and easily flummoxed actress. Caden Hergott as Max Van Horn, a self-obsessed actor with a limited wit. Chris Derochie as Jeff Slater, a sardonic realist who, despite his sharp wit, lacks the ambition and drive to live up to his full potential and Janice Sorestad as Rita Marshall, a levelheaded producer with a wealth of experience, serving as the voice of sanity and reason amidst a swirling pool of chaos.
